日經新聞23日報導，因日本大規模太陽能發電廠普及、加上為了擴大對歐美、亞洲的出口，日立集團(Hitachi)旗下子公司日立化成工業(Hitachi Chemical)計畫投下22億日圓將使用於太陽能發電、風力發電的大容量鋰離子電池產能擴增至現行的4倍。報導指出，日立化成於2012年將日立旗下生產產業用電池的新神戶電機(Shin-Kobe Electric Machinery Co.)併為完全子公司，而日立化成此次增產投資的對象就是新神戶電機所屬的名張事業所。
