水晶雪花酒店的靈感來源於挪威現有的漂浮屋，並將由一家專業浮漂建築公司和一家奢侈酒店團隊共同打造。除了外表奢華之外，水晶雪花酒店內部裝潢和服務將會以五星級酒店標準打造。除此之外，酒店將會被置放在欣賞極光最好的城市的兩個海峽之間，以便遊客欣賞到全景極光。

根據環球網報導，酒店將會在2015年中期開工。但由於酒店的特殊性，酒店將會在碼頭上用鋼筋混泥土建造，之後再牽引到海中並由纜索加固到兩個海峽之間。雖然漂浮酒店缺乏穩固基，但在內的遊客們根本不用擔心是否會過度漂浮。開發公司還聲稱，這座酒店的建造以及開放絕對不會對當地造成任何長久的負面影響。

水晶雪花酒店將會成為歐洲第一個漂浮酒店，此外，開發公司還有意在馬爾地夫建造漂浮度假村又或漂浮酒店甚至漂浮城市。此外，開發者還有意在大陸建造漂浮博物館和漂浮主題公園。


搭配玻璃頂棚的酒店 可以360度欣賞當空風景。
