農委會：米格魯體型適中　最宜動物實驗

【張博亭／台北報導】農委會家畜衛生試驗所所長蔡向榮今表示，選擇使用犬隻為狂犬病動物實驗對象，是因小狗為人類最親近的動物，且分析國外人類感染狂犬病的案例，絕大多數也是被狗抓咬傷，而挑選米格魯進行狂犬病動物實驗，主因是米格魯體型適中、個性溫和，為相當適合實驗的犬隻，目前預計採購14隻米格魯，家衛所也將在下周進行實驗，但確切日期，蔡不願透露。  

蔡向榮表示，此次使用米格魯進行狂犬病實驗，主要是檢測病毒的感染力，即多少病毒量可能造成犬隻感染，不過動保團體仍批，若實驗過程沒公開，擔心米格魯根本是白白犧牲。
