美股周二下跌，拖累台股7日開低失守8000點，指數開低走低，電子股、金融股齊挫，跌幅都逾1%，台積電、大立光、鴻海等指標股齊挫，傳產股僅水泥股、鋼鐵股力守紅盤撐盤，但不敵賣壓，終場收在最低的7921.29點，大跌117.62點，成交762.8億元。
擔心聯準會(Fed)可能從9月開始縮減購債計畫，QE退場疑慮再起下，美股周二下跌，道瓊工業指數盤中一度重挫近140點，終場以15518.74點作收，下跌93.39點，跌幅0.6%；NASDAQ指數收3665.77點，下跌27.18點，跌幅0.74%；S&P 500指數收1697.37點，下跌9.77點，跌幅0.57%；費城半導體指數收478.68點，下跌3.46點，跌幅0.72%。
美股下跌，外資對台股操作偏空下，台股7日以低盤開出，失守8000點關卡，指數以7993.57點開出，下跌45.34點，由於上市櫃公司7月營收及今年半年報陸續公布中，影響到部分個股的表現，早盤開低後，正在實施庫藏股的宏達電止跌，聯發科則是紅翻黑，電子股終場跌幅1.62%。
電子股、權值股重挫，拖累大盤跌勢加重，金融股富邦金、國泰金等股也是走跌，終場跌幅1.62%；傳產股部分，百貨股跌幅逾3%、營建股、汽車股、橡膠股跌幅都逾2%，各類股幾乎齊挫，拖累大盤的表現。
